California Bike Gear, makers of Quik-Stik sponsored a nation wide YouTube based competition to find who is Quikest with the Stik in 2008. Contest was open to anyone who can wield the Stik. Competitions were held exclusively at participating Independent Retail Bicycle Stores.

Twenty five years ago when Ron Patterson, currently the owner of Pat's Cyclery in Norwalk, CA., set the world record for dismounting and remounting a standard bicycle tire using a Quik-Stik tire changing tool. Who would have guessed that two and a half decades later the
Quik-Stik would still be the fastest, safest way to remove a bicycle tire?
We have a New Champion!

Tim Wegner from Summit City Cycles in Fort Wayne Indiana posted the   winning time in the last few hours of the August 18 contest deadline just   edging out Rob Dunaway from The Bicycle Center in Port   Charlotte, Florida.

The contest included the removal of a deflated tire and innertube from the   wheel completely with the valve removed, The tube and tire had to be replaced   properly onto the wheel. The one requirement was that the   removal of the tire   and the replacement of the tire must include the use   of a Quik-Stik tire tool,   and no other tool may be used. The tube and tire   must be ready for inflation,   but the clock stopped prior to inflation.

Can You Beat Tim's Time?

We're already planning our 2009 version of the National Quik-Stik Tire Changing Contest. In the meantime, if you can beat Tim's time, we'll post your video on our site and on YouTube and crown you World's Quikest Stik ... until someone is Quik'er.
