Tire Liners Aka Tube Protectors

Low cost,easy installation. Protects against punctures from throns, broken glass, small nails. Allows use of tire with small cuts. Can be re-used.
Adds a small amount of weight. Not too effective against large nails, blow-outs, etc. Does not protect from tube deterioration or valve stem problems.


Semi-Pneumatic or Foam Tubes.

Since there is no air to lose, they can never go flat. Tires can be used until tread wears through. Tubes are re-usable.
The rubber hose-type inner tubes are heavy and add a lot of rolling resistance. The lightweight plastic and foam versions solve some of the weight problem, but have a tendency to "flatten-out" under heavy loads, and have very little rebound. Both types are expensive, and difficult to Install.


Solid Plastic Tires

Ride Is very hard and Installation Is difficult. Hard plastic surface tends to slip In wet weather. There Is a potential for "roll-off" when cornering at high speeds, and product Is expensive.
